WEEKLY FORECAST:

aries icon  ARIES: March 21-April 19

The general emphasis, Aries, lies on work, co-workers, machinery, daily health, nutrition, and duties to dependents (including pets). Despite this, you’re feeling — and very ready to express — romantic vibes (last week of this). Also, now to Sept. 22, other people, from the public to intimate partners, treat you with unusual grace and affection. (And that day begins a month of relationships — most importantly, likely, with someone who’s seeking a partner.) Sunday’s romantic, creative, filled with beauty, but this night slides into work/health concerns, lasting to past dawn Wednesday (PDT). A new job seems to be in the works, but be careful, skeptical of rumours, talk — but not to the point of suspicion, which can upset your position. Tuesday pm offers good progress, especially with computers, electricity, protest groups. Wednesday late morning to Friday night brings relationships, opportunities, public appearances and relocation themes — generally an excellent interval, so charge ahead. One thing: Mars enters Cancer Wednesday, to Nov. 3 — 2 whole months during which you’ll be handling many domestic, family or property matters — and during which you should practice being diplomatic…

taurus icon  TAURUS:  April 20-May 20

Wednesday ends six weeks of “swift money,” Taurus. Now to November 4, Be wary with gossip, and when communicating with the gov’t or “head office. Co-workers are gracious, friendly almost all Sept. You’re in a general phase of romance, creativity, beauty and pleasure, but your romance planet is in a “ending” rather than “starting” position. This might be a hint about what you should do this week. Next Monday (Sept. 9 to 25) it will be “all systems go” for love and creative things. Spend Sunday at home, with family or in nature. Rest, contemplate. This night until Wednesday morning (about 9 am PDT) brings those romantic, creative and pleasure-seeking vibes. Careful Monday, romantic illusion is rife. And you might hit a “refusal” Tuesday am (PDT) but this pm sparks “friendly magic.” Tackle chores and eat, dress sensibly Wed. morning through Friday — a fair time (not best, not worst — watch the electric side) to buy or repair machinery. Saturday’s sober, serious, and relationship oriented. Only make promises you’re sure you want to make. Opportunities are not glamorous, but are real.

gemini icon  GEMINI:  May 21-June 20

The main emphasis lies on your family, home, security, mother nature, ending and starting relationships and situations, Gemini. You’ve been rather assertive, friendly and determined the last 6 weeks, and happily anticipating your future. Wednesday pops that balloon a wee bit, and starts two full months of income “quickness” — during which much more money can flow to you, but you will need to be disciplined about spending/debt, or you could end up poorer, despite  receiving more $. Casual friends are happy all week. Lovers, romantic prospects are sweet until Sept. 22, despite the general “down home” monthly zeitgeist. Sunday is for trips, calls, paperwork and errands. Bomb around the ‘hood. This night to mid-morning Wednesday nudges you toward home, kids, spouse, nature, rest, real estate. Careful with your rep, career Monday (and a bit Tuesday, even Wed. morning) — unrealistic ideas and impulsive actions spell “danger.” Romance, creativity, charming children fill Wednesday morning through Friday. Love is possible, lucky, late Wed. through Thurs., but might hit a reef late Fri. Saturday brings chores — eat, dress sensibly.

Cancer icon  CANCER:  June 21-July 20

The general accent lies on errands, communications, acquaintances, short trips, and paperwork, Cancer. These are highlighted Sunday night to mid-morning Wed. — with many obstacles and misplaced fantasies, so proceed cautiously. Your home will be a place of gentle love and happiness until late Sept. Wednesday ends my advice to avoid belligerent people and dicey places. This day sparks two months during which you will be more determined, more aggressive/assertive, and simmering with sexual magnetism. There are discussions about $ this week, but no really significant action. As always, until June, you are favoured by management and gov’t. Sunday’s for shopping, collecting $, maybe casual sex. This night to Wed. is described above. Wednesday morning (about 9 am PDT) through Friday nudges you toward home, family, nature, rest and contemplation. Great time to prune the garden. All goes well here, but avoid mixing friends (or desires) with money. (Avoid “nerves”Friday pm.) Saturday starts a romantic, creative weekend — still, approach it slowly.

Leo icon  LEO:  July 21-Aug. 22

The pursuit of money and possessions is highlighted this month, Leo. It’s generally a mellow time. There might be physical intimacy, but not a lot of romance. (Though you remain ever hopeful this year until mid-2025 — and, if you’re single, that hope will pay off!) Now to November 3, avoid belligerent individuals and violent venues — dark alleys, biker clubs. Friends and communications bless you most of September (especially the present week). You might take a pleasure trip. You’re the star, and in charge, Sunday — be kind in relationships. Pursue money and possessions this night to Wednesday morning (9 am PDT) — but DO NOT invest. Obstacles outweigh benefits 2 to 1. Communicate, travel, tackle paperwork, perform errands Wednesday morning through Friday — all goes well, surface-wise, but watch for an underlying stress, don’t blurt things out at work, especially in front of higher-ups. Spend Saturday and the weekend at home or in the ‘hood. Talk to the family, make (realistic) plans.

virgo icon  VIRGO:  Aug. 23-Sept. 22

The general emphasis lies on you, Virgo. Your energy, charisma, clout and effectiveness are at a yearly high for three more weeks. Get out, see and be seen, start significant projects. Your career and ambitions are hugely favoured until next June. Mid-week to early November, your hopes will revolve around sex, lust, finances/investments/debts, you might meet a new, secretive friend, and your own sexuality will be “playful.” Until Sept. 22, you enjoy good luck in money matters and shopping. Avoid gossip. Communicate with the gov’t or an institution or “head office” — esp. Sunday, when this is favoured. Sunday night to about 9 am Wed. (PDT) boosts your energy and charisma — there are many obstacles, but you’re the winner! (Do NOT invest, and avoid STD’s.) Collect $, buy/sell, read to learn, or hug a “friend with benefits” Wednesday morning through Friday. A nice few days, but avoid legal, love or philosophical misunderstandings. Saturday starts a weekend of trips, calls, paper work, reports, anecdotes, errands…mostly good!

libra icon  LIBRA:  Sept. 23-Oct. 22

Settle into quietude, Libra. Rest, dream, contemplate, meditate, plan, improve your karma (do good deeds) and liaise with gov’t, institutions and head office. Despite your weariness, others find you attractive (to Sept. 22, the same day this “quietude” ends). Be diplomatic and flexible with higher-ups, now to early November — they will be grumpy, moody, impatient. (But also interested in their own advancement, so you might gain their favour by helping them with this — but beware collusion.) If you’re single, new paramours met between Sept. 4 and Nov. 4 will tend to be dominating, temperamental, and “in friction” with you. Stick with the old, or wait. Sunday’s for happiness, a mild popularity boost, social joys and — well, fun. This night through Wednesday brings what September’s all about — rest, contemplation, planning, etc. Many glitches and unrealistic temptations arise, so step cautiously. Your energy and charisma rise (moderately, as you’re still in the “weary” trend) Wednesday morning through Friday. Good luck propels you, esp. Wed. night and Thurs. But avoid a “secret” love affair, an odd investment, gossip or collusion. Saturday starts a weekend of shopping, paying bills, etc.

scorpio icon  SCORPIO:  Oct. 23-Nov. 21

Popularity, optimism, wishes, social joys, flirting and entertainment welcome you this month, Scorpio. A friendly romance quite possible. From Wednesday to Nov. 4, strictly avoid lawsuits, courts, lawyers. This week, conversations with higher-ups go well. Gov’t, head office and institutions treat you well this week and the next two. Above all, have fun! Be ambitious Sunday; dress up and street your stuff. This night to 9 am (approx., PDT) Wednesday brings everything in the first sentence — social joys, optimism, etc. But the aspects are gruesome — so proceed with caution (especially regarding commitments) — enjoy the mood, without pressing for results. Settle into quietude, relax and rest, seek spirit, contemplate and plan, Wednesday morning through Friday. This mostly smooth interval can aid in dealing with management or civil servants. But DON’T try to persuade or seduce anyone. Your energy and pizzazz rise strongly Saturday, for a weekend of success.

sagittarius icon  SAGITTARIUS:  Nov. 22-Dec. 21

The general emphasis lies on ambition, prestige relations, worldly standing and such things, Sage — until Sept. 22. You feel hopeful, optimistic, and friends encourage you. An intellectual, legal, travel or similar matter is still favoured, but only through next Sunday (Sept. 9). Your sexual side blossoms this Wednesday to Nov. 4. Same period, reject impulse when investing, making power plays, agreeing to surgery or a lifestyle change. Be careful, thoughtful. Relationships, relocation, public appearances and opportunities are your main source(s) of good fortune until next summer. Sunday’s for intellectual, travel, and love involvements. Be ambitious this night to about 9 am Wednesday (PDT). Many obstacles exist, but you can turn them to “ambitions fuel.” However, avoid an argument, or pushing for an answer (or self-delusion!) Mon./Tues. Wednesday morning through Friday lifts your heart with social joys, flirtations, wishful optimism, and entertainment. Most flows well here, especially Wed. night to Fri. morning. Saturday starts a weekend of rest, contemplation, planning — avoid competition, just rest and ruminate.

capricorn icon  CAPRICORN:  Dec. 22-Jan. 20

Profound ideas, things far away, international concerns, legal, intellectual and philosophical wanderings — these fill your plate until late September, Cap — and are highlighted Sunday night to about 9 am (PDT) Wednesday morning. Your career will chug along fine, as higher-us favour you. Some secrets, or research, brings profitable “angles” to you. This Wednesday to Nov. 4, relationships can be volatile — arguments could lead to endings. There might be an opportunity involving real estate or a food business. Search for those “secrets” Sunday. Be careful with everything listed in the first sentence above (profound ideas, et al) Mon. to Wed. morning, as many obstacles exist. Reject fantasy, daydreams. Be ambitious Wed. morning through Friday. This interval is mostly favourable for your career, prestige relations and worldly status. But don’t mix romance and sex, nor “get creative” about investments: conservative best. Saturday starts a weekend of social delights, flirtation, entertainment, optimism and popularity!

Aquarius icon  AQUARIUS:  Jan. 21-Feb. 18

Secrets, research, hidden values, financial moves, power plays, lust, medical and lifestyle decisions — these fill your September, Aquarius. You are still in active, open communication with a spouse, partner, potential client. (By next week, communications will grow more confidential and consequential.) On Wednesday, you start a two-month secondary influence that will make work more intense, active: guard against rashes, harsh chemicals, fire/heat, and sharp tools. A good time to buy a car, other machines. (Not the present week, though.) Sunday brings exciting meetings, some opportunity, some opposition, and a need for diplomacy. This night to about 9 am (PDT) Wednesday brings all the things described in the first sentence above, “secrets,” etc. — but not in the most fortunate way, so be careful. Wednesday morning through Friday brings

a light, affectionate and mildly lucky influence that boosts your prospects in legal, educational, media and international zones, to Sept. 22. Saturday starts a weekend of ambition, status concerns — these end well.

Pisces icon  PISCES:  Feb. 19-March 20

The accent remains on relationships, opportunities, agreements/opposition, public appearances and possible relocation, Pisces. (“Possible” — ‘cuz it occurs every Sept.) This is highlighted Sunday night to Wednesday morning (about 9 am PDT). Proceed carefully — you’re more likely to meet opposition than agreement. Earlier, Sunday daytime is for chores, minor health cures. Wednesday morning through Friday beneficially promotes secrets, profit, major financial actions, research, lifestyle moves, medical decisions, and lust/extramarital temptations. (These are favoured until late October.) Saturday starts a mellow, gentle, loving weekend, filled with long-distance messages, higher learning, or deep thoughts. Wednesday begins 2 months of romantic passion — and courage. If single, you might try to possess someone — hmm. Remember, until next June, your greatest good luck lies in real estate, security, family. This week, Pluto returns to Capricorn for 11 weeks, an indication that an old, old wish, perhaps abandoned, might still come true. Pay attention to someone you meet socially in Oct./Nov.

THE END.

AFTERAMBLE:

Kamala has risen by personal appointment rather than by votes. In at least one instance, in San Francisco, she slept her way up the ladder of success. Her chart shows she can rise up very quickly, and fall down very quickly.

***

Everyone is fretting – at least Republicans are fretting – that Kamala Harris has no policies on the economic/inflation, military, immigration or medicare for all. But in a sense they’re missing the point. Kamala and her forces believe that the most important thing to grow out of humanity at this juncture is DEI, especially the equity part. Unfortunately the I part – Inclusion — they abandoned almost as soon as they uttered it. I saw an interesting little video where a Trump supporter went to a democratic rally, wearing a Trump T-shirt. He was almost physically kicked out . He was shunned and sworn at by these inclusive people. Then the same person went to a Trump rally wearing a T-shirt Promoting Kamala. The people around him, noticing, put their hands on his shoulder and extended their hands for a for a shake. They welcomed him  as if he were a lost brother. This is the party that the Democrats claim are exclusive.

I’m not sure what the D stands for in DEI. Maybe Dumb? Not diversity — diversity of thought and ideas are not allowed in the Democratic Party.

But back to my point: whereas Republicans fret and try to control interest rates, inflation, the economy and world trade, Democrats largely seem to believe that the economy will take care of itself. They might be largely right there. As for immigration, another topic that set republican‘s hair on fire, Kamala and her cohorts  believe that ultimately, there should be no national borders, that we should embrace everyone in the world, There is some truth in that also. And maybe it is time for these sorts of things to be given a pilot run. Or maybe it’s too early, which looks like the case when you observe China , Russia, and the Middle East and their antipathy toward the US.

Medicare for all might or might not be achievable, and it is certainly fair… In Canada, which has a one-size-fits-all government funded medical system which serves everyone equally, again and again the government drops certain services from coverage,  and is slow to adopt new technologies. This means that the best healthcare can only be accessed by people with enough money to pay private practitioners. But it has one crucial and not often recognized downside: where healthcare is totally paid for by the government, research and technology, development of new surgical methods, new drugs etc. declines markedly. For decades, Canadians have benefitted from American medical innovations. Very little development has occurred in Canada. There’s no real incentive, and the government is so burdened with paying all the healthcare costs that it allocates few funds for research.

But the really big policy of the Democrats is: democracy, democracy for all, the end of prejudice and equal outcomes. Equal outcomes is a very tantalizing phrase, because it means for the majority of us, we will have more because we will share in the wealth of billionaires and millionaires. But equal outcomes was exactly the basis of Karl Marx’s Communism, In which each person would received enough money and enough food and housing to be content. The trouble is, communism has never brought prosperity; even China was poor and weak despite their billion plus population. It wasn’t until China embraced capitalism that the country thrived — and grew to be the second most powerful nation  in the world. Capitalism stands on one basic principle: equal opportunity and reward for merit, as opposed to communism which states there must be equal outcome for all and no reward for merit. So everyone gets their porridge, but no one has luxury. And all that free stuff such as Medicare? You pay for it through your taxes and your work; in an ultimate example, you would pay no taxes because you would receive no wage for your work. You will get your clothing, your food, your house and that’s about it. When you distribute the wealth, no one ends up wealthy except the politicians turned dictators who are skimming off the top. Communist dictators and autocrats are the counterparts to the billionaires in western society.

Oddly, things will actually cost more on an absolute basis in communism than in capitalism. In communism you need a layer, or many layers, of bureaucrats who of course need to be supported and fed also, adding to the cost of production or import or whatever.

I guess my point is that when you take democracy To its furthest point, it becomes communism.

***

There is a benefit in almost everything. House Prices rising rapidly in such cities as Vancouver has been a blight. That means that many young people who grew up in the city cannot afford to stay in it, much less buy a house. But there are two benefits: one, this is causes a dispersal of youth and its talents to less populated areas; and two, It creates a democratic mix of rich and poor. Because prices increased so rapidly, a labourer who bought a modest house in 1964 for $10,000, and has stayed in it since, and a policeman who bought the house two doors down for $100,000 in 1989,  now rub shoulders with the doctor or lawyer or intelligentsia who just bought the house between them for $2 million.

***

Tim Walz, Governor of Minnesota and Kamala Harris’ pick for VP, has introduced a bill which would ban any practising Christian, Jew or Muslim from teaching in the state’s pubic schools. They have to vow allegiance to a Marxist view of society, or their teaching license will be withheld.

The most shocking thing was this: a demand that teachers renewing their licenses must demonstrate “cultural competency,” including evidence of “self-reflection and discussion of [the state’s] new ideologies.” This is communism-speak. It echoes the way communism is indoctrinated in the population: you must think, you must reflect, you must mediate on our symbols.

Reports say Walz has visited China 30 times.

It has already come on a small scale, but if Harris/Walz get into the White House, my prediction of long ago, early ’80’s, that communism and democracy would cease to exist, and will be replaced by a third system of government, will be well on its way to fulfillment. This process will take 250 years; it started in 1983. First, China moved toward capitalism, which is one step from democracy. Now, a few decades later, the U.S., on a variant state level (I.e., only in some — but many — states) is moving to eliminate democracy, and to “de-capitalize” through price controls, elimination of health insurance companies, etc. If Harris is elected, such communisms will become nation-wide, and already “blue” states like Colorado will be embolden to steer even further toward state control of the citizen’s knowledge and positions.

It must be a law of nature: when a being, entity, company or creature reaches a certain stage wherein they search and act harder, but find no more expansion, that entity will soon enter a deep decline. That’s just a fancy way of saying what goes up must come down. I used to notice, back in the ’80’s and ’90’s, that when a local business person was featured in the daily business section, his/her business tended to fade.

To reject science and technology because they aren’t spiritual enough, or to reject New Age woo woo types because they aren’t logical enough and have little proof – both positions are wrong. Truth is a combination of both. Life occurs at their junction.

When everybody has everything, no one has anything. The trouble with communism is that it’s an insult to creativity and an assault on variety.
