ASTRAL REFLECTIONS

	Being a grumpy old man in my fifties, in this column I tend to focus on such things as the Iraq war, Israel, violence in Iran, corporate corruption, etc. But two decades ago I wrote that we had entered a golden age, and I still believe that. Present perturbations are miniscule on a historical scale: our present worldwide civilization is one of peace and goodwill, healing and regeneration, and it will remain so for two centuries.
	How can I say that? Because a little known and virtually never studied planetary incident occurred in November 1983. This phenomenon, Pluto's return to Scorpio, occurs every 247 to 250 years, and accurately foreshadows the major movements of history for the ensuing two and a half centuries.  
	The 1983 Pluto "return" chart showed many things about the years 1984 to 2232 A.D. Many of those trends have already sounded their first note. I wrote back then that the world would see a grave new sexual disease, that men and women would "become interchangeable," that the world wars would end and be replaced by a form of police state, etc. We've already seen AIDS, a rise in female soldiers, rapists, husband-batterers, lawyers and doctors. We've watched the U.S. become the policeman of the world (Iraq, Afghanistan) and we've seen a form of police state slowly infect continental America. 
Here are some other things the 1983 Pluto return chart shows (with apologies to long-time readers who've heard this before):
It shows that those who communicate in short bits will be the guides for mankind; and that the long-winded, lawyers, professors, big business, book writers, etc., will be corrupted, or at least frustrated. It shows the cataclysmic, erratic violence of the preceding (1736-1983) era, not only the world wars, the violence endemic to society, will be supplanted by a more "controlling" society. It shows corporate crime will expand massively.   
	It shows men will become more psychic. The sexes will merge. (We've already seen male fish in the great lakes turn female in reaction to the drugs from human waste.) It shows a new happiness amongst lovers, new patterns of loyalty and camaraderie - and group fellowship - that replace the "private passion" approach of past centuries. It shows a two-century explosion in medical and ultra-tech development. 
This era (1983-2232) will be the last to support religion, language, property ownership and linear thought. It forms a "gateway" to a new chain of eras that will feature impressionism, color, perception, spirituality, vision, belief, and entropic thought.

Aries   March 21-April 19
Take a "time out" for the next four weeks. Rest, eat properly, plan and contemplate the world rather than plunge into the fray. Deal with head office, institutions and government agencies, spiritual and charitable situations. You're ambitious, but bosses might display impatience, temper. Your best course is one that's wide of them! It's a good few weeks for seeking advice, visiting counsellors, psychics, etc. Rest deeply Sunday. Love dreams visit you Monday/Tuesday. Duties and obligations surge to a record high Wednesday to Friday. Keep cool! Sidestep an argument Saturday night.

Taurus   April 20-May 20
The weeks ahead raise your popularity, and bring social delights, flirtations, and the fulfillment of two wishes! Be cautious in legal, educational, intellectual, far travel, and religious pursuits until late March - research these areas rather than charge ahead enthusiastically. Higher ups favor you this week. Stick to routine Sunday. Home, family, security and real estate are elusive Monday; solid Tuesday. You can make a good investment or financial rearrangement Tuesday. Creative, speculative projects succeed, and romance gushes, surprises, peaks Wednesday/Thursday - don't extend it into Friday. Work cautiously, safely, Saturday.

Gemini   May 21-June 20
The weeks ahead accent your career, parental role, reputation, community standing, and relations with higher-ups. You face a deep, long-term change in these - the pressure has been "on" since 1995, and lasts until early 2008. If you were born before June 14 you've already faced this pressure; if born later, you're just coming into it. How you handle relationships (from marriage to "pr") deeply affects your success quotient. Near-teem, this Friday morning and March 14 are "turning points." Investments intrigue. Avoid verboten sexual temptations. Money's still slim - until July!

Cancer   June 21-July 22
A mellow, understanding and compassionate mood fills you during the weeks ahead. That's good, because other people can be impatient and aggressive. They could also be attractive in an exciting, edgy way, or good career or business co-operators  - but make sure you're compatible before you leap into any partnership now to late March. This week favors financial decisions or negotiations - act now, time's passing. Pursue money, buy/sell, Monday (decisions uncertain) and Tuesday (solid progress). Casual friends, errands, news and paperwork create an exciting Wednesday/Thursday, but be slow, safe, quiet Friday/Saturday.

Leo   July 23-Aug. 22
The weeks ahead hold mysteries. Investigate - you could find the key to wealth or other "riches." Your subconscious is very active now; your sexual and possessive urges rise to the surface. Be ethical in all dealings, especially where the opposite sex is concerned. Rest, do nothing Sunday. Your energy flows back this night and Monday/Tuesday. Tuesday's better - you can successfully pursue a domestic, security, real estate, legal, travel, intellectual, creative or love goal. Prices are high, but you're determined to spend Wednesday/Thursday. Sell, too! Careful Friday/Saturday - haste causes loss.

Virgo   Aug. 23-Sept. 22
The weeks ahead will be filled with exciting meetings, opportunities, fresh new horizons - and the deep realization that an ongoing domestic situation must change, now or in a year or two. In business, this refers to a change of premises. If you need to make peace with a co-worker, employee or dependent (child) do it before Friday. Sunday's hopeful, but not productive. Retreat this night into Wednesday morning: rest, contemplate and plan. Your magnetism attracts an approach from someone volatile, sentimental, and unpredictable Wednesday/Thursday. Avoid shopping and romance Friday/Saturday.

Libra   Sept. 23-Oct. 22
The weeks ahead emphasize work and health - ah, well, just plod on. You'll remain cheerful and lucky. Tensions might arise on the home front now through late March (especially this Saturday). Channel this extra energy into repairs, cleaning, etc. You might feel ambitious Sunday, but only rest is fruitful. Your popularity rises, bringing visits and social joys, optimism and fresh horizons, late Sunday into Tuesday. (Tuesday's best; it opens the door to a monetary opportunity.) Retreat Wednesday to Friday - plan, contact head office or government, fulfill obligations and perform chores.

Scorpio   Oct. 23-Nov. 21
The weeks ahead feature romance, pleasure, creative and speculative urges. You'll ride more than one winning streak! Romance will be uniquely entwined with a domestic and sexual component. If you get involved, you might get very involved. Just dream Sunday. Your ambitions, parenting and relations with higher-ups succeed Monday/Tuesday. (A sense of uncertainty about your home or "background" might cause career unease Monday, but Tuesday's solid, especially in money terms!) Social delights, flirtation, popularity, optimism, fresh horizons, a sudden attraction are slated Wednesday to Friday. Be careful, safe Friday/Saturday.

Sagittarius   Nov. 22-Dec. 21
Money flows swiftly to you through late March. Bank it; avoid spending and new debt. Your home, family, Mother Nature, gardening, security, business territory and foundations, stomach and soul - these will occupy you during the weeks ahead. Make up your mind about a relationship - it either stays and grows, or goes. Sunday's mysterious - don't commit to anything/anyone.  A mellow, loving mood enters this night to Wednesday morning. Success rides with you Tuesday, in legal, travel, media, love, spiritual and government-interfacing areas. Career, relations with higher-ups bring surprises Wednesday/Thursday!

Capricorn   Dec. 22-Jan. 18
You'll grow more talkative, restless and friendly now to late March. Your determination increases. Your magnetism surges, drawing members of the opposite sex (same sex if you're gay). Paperwork, errands, details, calls, visits and short trips fill your days. Use this week to collect money, sell items. Stick to routine Sunday. Life reveals its mysteries Monday (mild uncertainty) and Tuesday (solid results) - step into investments, financial rearrangements, intimacy, "detective work." Mellow understanding comes Wednesday/Thursday. A legal, intellectual, travel or love matter could climax, and surprise you. Be diplomatic, careful Friday/Saturday.  

Aquarius   Jan. 19-Feb. 18
Pursue money now through late March. Buy/sell, ask for a pay raise, work a bit of overtime. But a "sea change" brews in your money this decade. You'll face both sudden new money conditions (e.g., this Wednesday/Thursday) and deeper, indirect pressures on money. (February 25, March 14 and 17 hint of this.) Avoid gossip for a month. Exciting meetings arise Monday to early Wednesday - a friendship can aid your career Tuesday. Expect revelations Wednesday to Friday - secrets pop out! Invest or grow intimate carefully these days. Avoid arguments Saturday night.

Pisces   Feb. 19-March 20
You'll be more "simpatico" with men than women now to late March. That's important, because during this span 1) your charisma and popularity rise, and 2) it's a superb time to start new ventures, ask favors, and gain allies. Try to start your projects soon, preferably before March, as life begins to slow, turn in circles and frustrate results by mid-March. Sunday brings you beauty and joy, but don't commit to anything important (buy nothing!). Tackle chores Monday/Tuesday. Exciting meetings occur Wednesday/Thursday - and you're the one providing the excitement!
