ASTRAL REFLECTIONS BY TIM STEPHENS OCTOBER 2 - 8, 2005 All times/dates are Pacific Daylight. Here are some further Katrina emails from readers. I promise these are the last: "Not a question_a comment. It was nice of you to print another opinion about Katrina but I just want you to know that I think you are 100 percent right about BUSH! How anyone can make an excuse for that wimp is simply beyond me. He's a Cancer_I'm sorry to say_that reflects on me somewhat_and believe me, he does everything with intent when he's not in his STUPID mode. Hope all is well with you. K." "Dear Tim, First and foremost, I have great respect for you as an astrologer, but it is there that my admiration of you ends_.Unfortunately for you, the person who objectified your analysis of hurricane Katrina was much more knowledgeable and intelligent than you are about the United States." (My note: the writer is referring to last week's letter, which excused the late Fed response to Katrina by quoting U.S. law. This law supposedly forbids the federal government from providing aid to a disaster-struck state until that state requests it. This law, changed with much fanfare last January, actually does the opposite. It "enables Washington to move federal assets to the disaster without waiting for requests from state officials," according to the Wall Street Journal.) The letter writer continues: "I realize you are, in fact, a foreigner, but you obviously are smart enough to know your "bread and butter" for your website is from the U.S.A. (Me again: No, it's based in Canada.) The best thing I know about you frozen Canadians is that you produce great hydroponic marijuana and prescription drugs._ Not to say your country's services are not needed, and the entrepreneurship of your citizens is exceptional in CAPITALIZING on our archaic laws about drugs. You poor things... I know you are tired of living in our shadow, but we really don't care (of course the minute you are bombed, guess who will be protecting you?)" (My note: The first on-the ground search and rescue team to break down doors and operate in New Orleans, was from Vancouver, Canada.) "Beyond that though, you are irrelevant to us. Sincerely, M.S.W." "I am ashamed of this government. Sincerely, C." "Keep your disgusting opinions to yourself. S." Start Nothing: Before 7:24 a.m. Sun., 8:15 a.m. to 5:03 p.m. Tues., 10:51 p.m. Thurs. to 0:28 a.m. Fri., and after 11:20 p.m. Sat. Aries March 21-April 19 Relationships reach a climax, and a new one might begin. Ditto for opportunities in business and personal arenas, relocation, public dealings, negotiations, agreements, litigation - and seeking permission. All these might proceed more slowly than seems reasonable, and/or might promise "huge rewards." These are warning signs, posted on the edge of a quagmire. But if one of these (e.g., permission) virtually drops into your lap, accept it. You might have significant dealings with a Libran - but Librans are in a bit of a "temptation" funk now, so be aware and careful. Taurus April 20-May 20 Don't volunteer for extra chores or work assignments. There will be a temptation, especially Sunday to Tuesday, to fall back on routine or mindless chores to escape the larger responsibilities (and rewards) of being in charge, of self-examination, even of spiritual "responsibilities." That said, chores proceed with unusual ease Sunday through Tuesday dawn. Relationships will grow a bit sluggish, even boring through September 2007, so contribute an extra smile and cheery word. (Clues about this Tuesday eve to Thursday.) Your life could change, in quiet but beneficial ways Friday/Saturday! Gemini May 21-June 20 Sunday to Tuesday (and all October) emphasizes romance, creative or speculative projects, pleasure, vacation, beauty or teaching kids. If you meet unusual delays or anticipate huge rewards that you have to keep quiet about at present (e.g., chasing your wife's sister, or selling your husband's Ferrari to buy gold stocks) you might as well nail a sign to your forehead, saying: "doomed." But if love, beauty or other joys drop into your lap unbidden, accept! Work, health are slated Wednesday/Thursday. Marriage, love, relocation, business and public opportunities arise Friday/Saturday! Cancer June 21-July 22 Accent is on home, family, kids, security, soul, stomach, nature, gardening or agriculture, especially Sunday to Tuesday, when a new domestic project or something lucky could drop in your lap! Accept the luck but beware new projects, big commitments in these areas, especially before October 8. You'll hear news or have a big talk about these things, perhaps Wednesday - make sure solutions are really workable, practical solutions, not "a wing and a prayer." Romantic notions arrive Wednesday (unworkable) and Thursday (powerful, hot, affectionate - or argument!) Work succeeds Friday eve, Saturday. Leo July 23-Aug. 22 Lots of things occur to waste your time, especially Sunday-Tuesday - calls, details, paperwork, errands, casual gabfests. These timewasters could be distracting you from your main task, even from your main idea, your genius, your true love or true direction. Don't be lulled - keep lifting your gaze to see the big picture. Your home remains sweet, your family affectionate - steep yourself in these Wednesday/Thursday. Friday/Saturday bring a multi-week rise in romance, creativity and pleasure (just as that home-sweet-home trend ends). Be open to love Friday/Saturday - not to casual "friendly romance." Virgo Aug. 23-Sept. 22 Conserve money. Cut out unnecessary purchases. Earn money as everyone does, but don't let earnings efforts interfere with "bigger money" - investments, speculative enterprises, "prospecting," can yield far more in the long run than putting in 8 hours at the office. Take a wee bit and put it in something that might grow over 20 years. This particularly apples Sunday to Tuesday. Communications flow smoothly, affectionately (especially Thursday, when love, sex, and/or big money combine with "charming conversations" or uplifting travel). Seek home, soul, Mother Nature and "hidden gems" Friday/Saturday. Libra Sept. 23-Oct. 22 Your energy, charms, effectiveness and sense of timing are high, especially Sunday to Tuesday dawn! (People still "glance at you" later Tuesday, but nothing comes of it.) If you aim toward other people, relationships, far or new horizons, opportunities, agreements, contracts, exciting meetings - and if you remain humble - these could be three powerful, benevolent days! Some Librans have experienced down times lately. More and more, you will see the clouds lifting. (Especially after October 8.) Be careful with money mid-week. Friends, travel, newspapers and curiosity pull you happily Friday/Saturday! Scorpio Oct. 23-Nov. 21 Rest, lie low, especially Sunday to Tuesday. But don't sink into any sloughs of despair: you should avoid excessive rest, withdrawal and spirituality through June/06. You're going to catch a strong updraft of rising spirits, luck and confidence anyway from late October onward, so hopefully my advice is in vain! Again through June/06, avoid approaching government agencies, institutions, and "head office." Avoid trying to manage others: tackle the job yourself. Your energy rises mildly Wednesday (some problems) and Thursday (hot attraction - or enmity!). Chase money Friday eve and Saturday. Sagittarius Nov. 22-Dec. 21 Two kinds of wishes lure you this week - the achievable and the not. The "not" has an unrealistic twinge, or gets you overly hopeful, or is surround by a mental fog, or runs into unusual delays. The achievable centers on love, romance, children, creativity or pleasure. Sunday to Tuesday (8 a.m. PDT) offer a chance to form wishes that might, someday, very much come true. (Especially those formed about noon Monday to Tuesday dawn.) Retreat, avoid competition Wednesday/Thursday. Your energy, charisma surge Friday/Saturday - a "first wish" could be granted! Capricorn Dec. 22-Jan. 19 Examine your ambitions, reputation, and prestige relations all month, but especially this Sunday to Tuesday. Subtly unlucky people/projects or prospects arise before 11 a.m. (PDT) Monday. After that, the prospects that enter have a valid chance of being workable! The unlucky ones quietly incur delay, temptation or "misty sight." If in doubt, take a wait-and-see stance. Delay will not hurt you; haste will. Your hopes rise Wednesday (poor results) and Thursday (happy times). Be silent, restful Friday/Saturday, but act on spiritual, health, government and management fronts: you'll succeed. Aquarius Jan. 20-Feb. 18 Legal, educational, publishing, media, religious, intellectual, international and cultural matters are emphasized this month, especially Sunday to Tuesday. A new project could start here. DO NOT be drawn into a lawsuit anytime before June 22, 2006. A new love, a wedding, foreign travel or some other joyful thing could come! It's better if it "shows itself" after noon Monday (especially if it appears around dawn Tuesday). Be reliable Wednesday, cool-headed midday Thursday, on career and parental fronts. Your reward could be sweet this night! Hopes, popularity and social joys blossom Friday/Saturday! Pisces Feb. 19-March 20 Lust, a major financial interest, a health focus, research, a secret, a subconscious urge that will slowly shape your actions until you have totally changed your life - one of these has drawn you all year, and will until mid-06. I've counseled you to avoid it. But if something NEW arises in these areas from Monday noon to Tuesday dawn, it could be lucky. Keep your eyes shut until midday Monday, then open them wide! Wisdom, love float in Wednesday (misgivings) and Thursday (sweet night). Chase career, business Friday p.m. www.asralreflections.com. Email: timstephens@shaw.ca.
