ASTRAL REFLECTIONS

      I learned in midlife that there was no sure thing, nothing safe, in finances,  investing, stocks and bonds, real estate, etc. Safety did not exist. This shocked and disappointed me. It made me a timid investor for many years, and caused me to miss opportunities. Then I finally got it: the only safe place is the place of understanding. 
      That said, be careful in giving your heart to a woman or man with Pluto conjunct (in the same place as) his/her rising sign or Sun sign. This often makes them loyal, sentimental and protective; but it very often also makes them extremely stubborn, controlling, secretive, scheming, vengeful and manipulative. Cancers born June 1914-June 1939, Leos born June 1939-Aug.57, Virgos born Aug./57 to Oct./71, Librans born Oct./71 to Nov./83, Scorpios born Nov./83 to Jan./95, and Sagittarians born Jan./95 to Jan. 2008, qualify. Not all of these will be controlling, scheming, etc. – only about 1 in 5 will possess “peak” tendencies this way. Perhaps 2 of 5 will be sufficiently inclined this way to make a difference, and 2 in 5 will show almost no tendencies. But if you get yourself an ephemeris (you can probably find one online – try NASA – or just Google “astrology ephemeris”) and learn to use it, and discover the apple of your eye has a Pluto within two or three degrees of his/her Sun, then consider yourself warned! 
      I can’t tell you how to use an ephemeris here, except to say the  Sun symbol is a circle with a dot in its centre, and the Pluto symbol usually looks like a capital P superimposed over a capital L – or a P with  a long foot. The Sun symbol will always be on the far left, the Pluto symbol on the far right. If your loved one’s Sun sign fits any of the intervals I’ve listed above, then look up his/her birth date  (year, also) – and see whether the numbers showing for these two symbols are mathematically close. E.g., Sun at 22 Libra and Pluto at 20 or 25 Libra is “peak intensity.” Sun at 2 Libra and Pluto at, say, 28 Libra, the influence is almost non-existent.
	Most ephemerides will not spell out the sign names for you, so you’ll have to know the “glyphs” (or sign symbols). You can figure this out yourself, simply by comparing the birth dates in the ephemeris with the “sign dates” in your newspaper’s horoscope column. But briefly, the Cancer symbol looks like two sperm swimming opposite ways; Leo looks a bit like an ox yoke, or a snake with a back problem; Virgo looks like a fancy M, with a tail wrapped around the last upright; Libra is a curved line over a straight, horizontal line; Scorpio is an M with a little pointed tail; and Sag is an arrow with a short line across the shaft.

Aries   March 21-April 19
A long focus on enjoyment, romance, self-indulgence and children’s affairs ends now. The two months ahead turn your attention to work. At the same time (especially if you were born before March 24) luck returns. A legal, far travel, educational, intellectual or cultural influence enters also. You  might work hard on a travel, educational, legal (etc.) project, and have some luck in these. Or you might just fly with your luck and travel urge, far away from work! Your life is changing, and it might do so with unexpected or exhilarating suddenness early this week! You’ll be busy!

Taurus   April 20-May 20
A major inspiration or eye-opener might occur the first few days – a secret wish could come true, or a financial step bring you unexpected security! Lie low Sunday/Monday – your energy needs re-charging. Now to late July, you’ll bring a new determination and intensity to romantic, creative and sports zones. The friction that might have marked your domestic sphere since last October now fades. Peace returns! Your energy and charisma rise Tuesday to Thursday – you attract others, and your luck surges. Start things, get things done. Chase money – diplomatically! – Thursday eve to Saturday.

Gemini   May 21-June 20
An unexpected meeting, idea, or communication during the first half of this week could raise your hopes sky-high – and signal a new friendship, a light love affair, or a wish coming true! One warning: take care that secrets do not interfere with your reputation, standing or ambitions, especially mid-week. Rest, lie low Tuesday to Thursday noon. Contemplate, plan. Your energy and magnetism soar Thursday eve to Saturday – but avoid unintended sharp words. Now to late July, guard against domestic friction – a wish could come true in real estate. Renovations, construction will succeed.

Cancer   June 21-July 22
Lie low,  contemplate, conserve energy for the next two weeks. Fulfill obligations, handle governmental and administrative tasks, and complete neglected tasks in any area. Spend time with yourself, re-connect spiritually, be charitable. Contemplate and plan. Be ambitious early week – an unexpected event or influence could bring sudden good career or business luck for the next three months! Perhaps related, the last seven months of “wild ride” in money now dissolves, leaving you financially steadier. For the next two months, success will depend on your ability to communicate and travel.

Leo   July 23-Aug. 22
Your popularity, optimism and happiness continue to brighten, especially Thursday to Saturday! A wish (or many little wishes) can come true over the next two weeks. Entertainment, light romance, flirtations and social invitations pop up here and there. A lucky, unexpected event could occur in your legal, travel, educational, cultural or publishing sphere. This happens almost in the same moment (day, week) as you give up your anger about something in these same areas. For the next two months, more money will flow to you – make sure it doesn’t flow through you. A Gemini is complex!

Virgo   Aug. 23-Sept. 22
Be ambitious this week and next. For the last seven months, financial, lifestyle and sexual matters have held you back, perhaps disconcerted, even frightened you. This ends – for the two months ahead you take these matters in hand, control, enliven, push, and solve them. Your sexual magnetism soars for seven weeks. A change, an event or new atmosphere enters early week; it “kicks off” a summer of luck in all these areas: sex, intimacy, finances, investments, lifestyle changes, research, and your connections to other people’s money. Many developments this week: avoid deception, anger!

Libra   Sept.23-Oct. 22
Pursue legal, educational, travel, cultural and love objectives this week and next. They  enliven and challenge, succeed and frustrate this week. A Gemini (or Virgo) might be involved. Keep an even keel. If your urge to wed and your urge to partner are not represented by the same person, stop. Early week brings an unexpected change, a lucky, unpredictable, fresh exhilaration in love, partnership, contractual and relocation zones, now to early September. This might be “it,” Libra, or it  might merely be a precursor of a similar, huge trend in 2011. Prepare for excitement!

Scorpio   Oct. 23-Nov. 21
Many secrets will be revealed this week and next (mostly this week) – be a detective. Be silent, watch and listen. Your sexual, intimate urges rise to the surface: lust won’t be a stranger! (But he/she might be.) The anger, impatience and temperamental relations with higher-ups that have marked your career scene since last October now disappear. A new, unpredictable, friendly, monetarily lucky influence enters your work sphere, now to September. At the same time, a job could end. You’ll socialize with co-workers, June/July. Work hard Sunday/Monday. Beware deception mid-week.

Sagittarius   Nov. 22-Dec. 21
Partnerships, relationships, opportunities, challenges from others, relocation themes, negotiations, contracts, marriage and/or divorce – these concerns fill the two weeks ahead. The road will be uneven – rocky, frustrating, exhilarating, successful, joyful, maddening, etc. For success, avoid two “traps” 1) deception or being too mistrusting, especially around Tuesday/Wednesday; 2) anger or sharp words, especially around Thursday/Friday. Everything is possible, even true love! Now to September, romance, creativity “wake up” luckily! All June/July, be diplomatic with temperamental bosses.

Capricorn   Dec. 22-Jan. 19
Tackle chores this week and next. You might feel a little frustrated or “neglected by the universe” because opportunities are just not coming your way. This is a good thing, for the opportunities that face you this month and next are traps in disguise. Be patient! Avoid all legal hassles June/July. Exceptions: you might sign legal papers to buy or sell real estate, to protect a child, for a retirement plan, etc. – fine. This whole area (security, kids, real estate, etc.) “wakes up” as new, enlivening, unpredictable, mostly lucky events enter now to September. Midweek’s mellow.

Aquarius   Jan. 20-Feb. 18
Love, romance, creative urges,  pleasure, beauty, charming kids, speculation, sports fill the two weeks ahead. You could fall in love, especially late this week! But avoid self-deception (and deceiving others) – and realize the one who makes your heart flip and the one you lust after might not be the same person. If so, stop, think before proceeding. The next two months could be very sexual; an affair is possible. Possible, too, that you’ll just talk about it. Secrets are shared – and will “out.” A new, lucky and sociable influence fills June to September. Anger from others ends!

Pisces   Feb. 19-March 20
Focus on endings and  new beginnings, on nurturing, home, kids, real estate, retirement, security, mother nature, for two weeks. You might end an association, especially Thursday to Saturday. If you don’t do it in anger, it’s justified. An unpredictable, fresh, lucky, odd influence enters your money and earnings sphere now to early September – this could bring an unexpected and freeing event, or that event might come in 2011, first half. Be flexible, opportunistic. A long period of hard work eases up now. All June/July, relationships will intensify – expect heat, anger and attraction!
