PREAMBLE:
ALL SIGNS: Mars enters Leo late Thursday night (PDT). This ends over 3 months of Mars in Cancer, which has been upheaving or unsettling. Now to June 17, Mars will be in Leo, where it promotes romance, creativity, far travel, learning and media.
***
I think there will be a new centrist party in America., Either the present progressive left will break off to become a party of extremes, or a mass of liberal voters will “form” a new, more centrist ‘personality” that leaves the progressives as a third, smaller party.

Okay, here’s the thing: a month or two ago I wrote that Pierre P would win the Canadian federal election, because Jupiter is in his sign, Gemini. But I wanted to see the date of the election. Now Carney has set that for April 28, and that gives me pause. On that date, the sun and moon will be in Pierre’s “weak spot” (his 12th sign, Taurus) and sour old Saturn will dominate from Pisces (Carney’s sign). Usually, this would be a killer. Carney — and this election date — is basically the worst news Pierre could receive. But on April 28 Carney isn’t hugely favoured, either, as Taurus is his talk, travel, errand and paperwork sign — not exactly a winning position. Unfortunately, I don’t know Pierre’s birth time nor his rising sign, which could give a final yes or no. Carney’s rising sign is reportedly Cancer, which is in a weak position until June 9.
So many conflicting factors, but I’ll stick with my first prediction: Pierre will win. It’s a prediction without conviction, tho.
WEEKLY FORECAST:
ARIES: March 21-April 19
This is your last week of extra energy, clout and charisma, Aries, so make the best of it. Push projects, persuade people, start new things. For the next 14 months, delegate tasks rather than do them yourself. If you’re at odds with a gov’t agency, now will be the time to solve it, smooth things out. Same 14 months, it’s better to be spiritual than practical. Listen to your intuition. Sunday to late suppertime Tuesday (PDT) peels back the layers obscuring the truth, or the facts you need, to: invest, embrace sex, start a medical procedure, or change your lifestyle. Sunday’s difficult, Monday’s good late, and Tuesday’s great! Wisdom, profound ideas, gentle love, intellectual and travel pursuits, law and media draw you Tuesday night to daybreak Friday — a nice, smooth ride, but turbulence enters Thursday night, and gets worse Friday morning. Still, everything ends well. Be ambitious Friday morning through Saturday (Sat. best). Friday ends 4 months of domestic friction, and starts 8 weeks of passion.
TAURUS: April 20-May 20
One last week of lower energy and quietude, Taurus. Rest, contemplate and plan. Seek advice, liaise with gov’t or head office. By this Saturday (Apr. 19) you enter a month of high energy, charisma and effectiveness. Now to July 2026, light, friendly romance will reward more than heavy, one-on-one infatuation. Same period, wishing, hoping, being social will boost you (and your heart) but being “lonely and creative” will lead to dead-ends. Your money luck still holds. If buying stocks, look to high dividend payers. You learn a secret, and popularity, romance, get a boost. Relationships, public appearances, contracts/agreements, and opposition — these fill Sunday to suppertime Tuesday (PDT). Sunday needs caution; Tuesday’s fortunate! Tuesday night to daybreak Friday emphasizes secrets, treasure, intuition, your subconscious, medical decisions and lifestyle changes, deep sex, and financial commitments — mostly fortunately! (Careful Friday.) Fri./Sat. Bring a mellow, thoughtful mood, gentle love, far travel or intellectual pursuits (law, learning, media, etc.). By Friday afternoon (PDT) onward, all’s well, even inspired.
GEMINI: May 21-June 20
It’s your last week of optimism, popularity, flirtation, social joys and entertainment, Gemini. Enjoy it, for Saturday begins a month of quietude, rest and recuperation. Mars, which has been lighting little fires in your income since early January, changes to sparking many meetings and little trips Friday to mid-late June. Though it might not feel like it, you are the luckiest sign until early June. (This likely to appear more in relationships, relocation, public appearances and general opportunities — and in publishing or learning.) Bosses favour you until April’s end — take advantage! A new, casual friend might appear. Tackle chores Sunday to late suppertime Tuesday. Eat, dress sensibly — Tuesday’s best, Sunday’s worst. Relationships, opportunities and opposition greet you Tuesday night to daybreak Friday (PDT) — good, except Friday, when caution should prevail. Friday daytime (difficult morning) and Saturday (fortunate) bring mystery, but also potential gain. Now to July 2026, you will fare better if you pursue carer goals rather than family, security or real estate goals.
CANCER: June 21-July 22
This is your last week of dealing with higher-ups, or ambition and prestige relations, Cancer. Saturday starts a month of happiness, hopes and wishes, popularity and social delights. However, just as the career/ambition trend sighs out, talk about a new ambition or project might begin. Love, though it might be casual or mild, grows between you and another. A good time to join an internet learning group. Romance, creative surges and “the poetry of life” draw you Sunday to late suppertime Tuesday. Sunday’s a bit difficult; Tuesday’s fortunate. Tackle chores Tuesday night to daybreak (7 am PDT) Friday. Be cautious Thursday night, Friday. Friday morning through Saturday brings relationships — quite good ones Saturday.
LEO: July 23-Aug. 22
One last week of intellectual, travel, media, legal and love, Leo. Saturday starts a month of ambition, worldly status and prestige relations. Yet Friday also starts 8 weeks of a passionate pursuit of everything in the first sentence. You will be courageous, determined, and sexually magnetic until June 17. Remember, until June your great luck lies in socializing, optimism and light romance. Now to July 2026, you will gain more from “big money” (investments, etc.) than from a pay check. Don’t accept surface appearances — dig deep for treasure. You’ll “feel” this the rest pop April. Sunday to suppertime Tuesday nudges you toward home, family, rest and mother nature. A good time to let some things/people go, bring others in. Tuesday’s best. This night to daybreak Friday spells r-o-m-a-n-c-e — best before Friday. Friday/Saturday brings chores — eat, dress sensibly.
VIRGO: Aug. 23-Sept. 22
This is your last week of secrecy, mysteries, lust, and potential changes to your lifestyle and nest egg, Virgo. By Friday, 4 months of “deep interest” in this area
will end. By Saturday, you start a month of far travel, legalities, higher learning, publishing, and gentle love. Until July, 2026, you will gain if you pursue relationships (and opportunities) — and lose if you are self-protective, solitary. Until June 9, you remain super-favoured in career and ambition zones. Sunday to suppertime Tuesday (7 pm PDT) brings casual acquaintances, communications, errands and paper work. It starts poorly (Sun.) but ends very well (Tues.). Be home, hug the kids, pursue security, garden, contemplate Tuesday night to daybreak Friday — all good, smooth, except late night Thursday, and Friday morning. Friday pm and Saturday bring romance, creative urges, charming kids — enjoy!
LIBRA: Sept. 23-Oct. 22
This is your last week of face-to-face relationships (and opportunities, and public appearances) Libra. Saturday starts a month of secrets, research, financial opportunities, debt, sexual and power temptations, and medical or lifestyle questions. A day earlier, Mars ends 4 months in Cancer (which has warned against starting a new potential love partnership) and begins an 8-week cruise through your sector of fun, popularity, wishes, optimism and light, happy love/friendship. A love started in April’s remaining days, or most of May, will bring a sexual but probably not permanent situation. If started May 21 to June 9 (even to June 15) the auspices for a good marriage (even a wedding) are strong. (Then avoid seeking a mate June 16 to Aug. 7, when a partnership, if formed, will nudge the other into dominating or undercutting you.) Collect $ and pay bills, buy/sell, read a book or hug a sexy friend Sunday to suppertime Tuesday (7 pm PDT). Tuesday most successful. Errands, paperwork and communications fill Tuesday night to daybreak Friday. All good, until Thursday night, Friday morn, when obstacles arise. Most of Friday, and all Sat., steers you toward home and family. Cook, clean, garden, hug the kids, whatever. A happy meeting Sat!
SCORPIO: Oct. 23-Nov. 21
One more week of work and health concerns, Scorpio. Saturday starts an exciting month of opportunities and relationships — be diplomatic but eager, for best results. One day earlier, Mars leaves your legal, travel and intellectual sign after 4 months, and begins 8 weeks of scrutiny from higher-ups, working for an ambitious goal, and possible friction in career. (Again, diplomacy!) Until June, your major good luck lies in investments, sex, pregnancy, lifestyle changes, surgery, research and power plays. Now to July, 2026, you will gain from deep romance, but lose if you play the field. Your energy and charisma are high Sunday to late suppertime Tuesday. Get out, start things, see and be seen, gather allies. Starts poorly Sunday, ok Mon., and good, lucky Tues. Collect $ and pay bills, embrace casual sex, buy/sell, read to learn midweek — Tuesday night to daybreak Friday (7 am PDT). Friday is NOT lucky. Errands, paperwork and communications rule Friday/Sat. — with good results Friday pm and Sat.
SAGITTARIUS: Nov. 22-Dec. 21
One last week of romance, creativity, pleasure and beauty, Sage. On the bad side, Saturday starts a month of work and health concerns. On the good side, Friday starts 8 weeks of romantic, creative luck that might be stronger than the last few weeks. Remember, your great good luck to June lies in partnering, opportunities, public appearances and relocation themes. Your home remains sweet, comforting all April. Four months of sexual, health, or financial “heat” dissipates now. Lie low, rest, contemplate and plan, Sunday to Tuesday suppertime (7:30 PDT). Tuesday’s the best for progress, also for liaising with gov’t or “head office.” Your energy and charisma surge upward midweek —Tuesday night to daybreak Friday (PDT). Thursday night, Friday am are NOT easy, so act Tues./Wed, early Thurs. Collect $ and pay bills, buy/sell, hug a sexy friend or read to learn Fri./Sat. Saturday better, by far.
CAPRICORN: Dec. 22-Jan. 20
This is your last week of being tied down, to home or a “rote” job. It’s also the last week (of 14) of others being overly assertive or aggressive toward you. In the 8 weeks ahead, control impulsiveness when investing (and in sex — rash possible). Now to July 2026, you will gain from superficial contacts, short trips and communications, and lose if you “elevate” any of these to a court room, international travel, to publishing, higher learning or if you “chase” a wedding. Sunday to late supper Tuesday (7:30 pm PDT) brings hope, wishes, social joys, popularity, flirting and entertainment. Tuesday’s best here. But retreat this night to daybreak Friday — rest, plan, contemplate, seek advice. Pamper your health. Be cautious Thurs. night, Fri. morn — obstacles proliferate like cockroaches. Your energy and charisma soar Friday/Sat. — Saturday’s best — you might spy a great investment idea, perhaps connected to real estate.
AQUARIUS: Jan. 21-Feb. 18
A somewhat light month of trips, communications and paper work ends Saturday, Aquarius. That day starts a month of down-home vibes: domesticity, family, security, stomach and soul will be highlighted until late May. A bit earlier, Friday ends 14 weeks of hard, possibly thankless work, and starts an 8-week period of excitement in relationships, sudden opportunities (which might require travel to a destination) and potential opposition or friction. (Some of this might hearken back to, repeat, a relationship of Nov./Dec. 2024. Be diplomatic, through May! Your biggest luck now (to June) lies in romance, sports/games, creativity, pleasure and beauty. Until July 2026, you will gain if you focus on earned income, and lose if you invest. Be ambitious Sunday to suppertime Tues. (PDT) — higher-ups are evaluating. Tuesday’s best; Sunday’s difficult. Midweek — Tuesday night to daybreak Friday — brings friends, social delights, flirtations, entertainment, and optimism (perhaps even a wish coming true). Careful Thursday night, Friday morn — obstacles. Retreat Fri./Sat. — rest, contemplate and plan. All’s well!
PISCES: Feb. 19-March 20
One last week of earning money, Pisces. On Saturday you start a month of travel, calls, texts, paperwork and swift, easy chores. This Friday ends 14 weeks of “hot” romantic vibes, impulsive gambles and adventures, to be replaced by 8 weeks of rather hectic or pressured work. (During these 9 weeks, be careful around caustic soaps/chemicals, fire, heat and sharp tools/machines.) Remember, to June, your major good luck lies in real estate, domesticity, child-rearing, food, farms, and similar stuff (e.g., “food” includes running a cafe). Until July 2026, you will gain from emphasizing your independence, skills, and personal goals, and you’ll tend to lose if you “give over” to another, let yourself be led, or relocate. Sunday to Tuesday suppertime (7:30 pm PDT) is intellectually stimulating, makes you mellow and contemplative, and open to new ideas, people and customs. Sunday’s difficult, Monday’s ok, Tuesday’s great. Be ambitious midweek — Tuesday night to daybreak Friday (PDT) — show your skills to higher-ups, dress well, all that. All good until Thursday night, Friday morn, when several obstacles appear. Friday daytime, and Saturday, bring popularity, social joys, optimism, flirts and light romance.
THE END.
AFTERAMBLE:
I think we are in a low economic cycle that will last a year or two. But if you look at stocks on a company by company basis, I think the profits that many S&P and TSX corporations earn are astoundingly low. Apple, for instance, has an earnings rate about 3%. If I owned a little corner store or a little company in the neighbourhood and my earnings were 3%, I’d shoot myself. You get a better return with bank GICs or buying treasuries. And yet the stock goes up and up and up. (Well, until this last week.) I think any PE over about 12 or 13 is a gamble.
But enough of stock markets: let’s talk about Kings and queens and hippos and rabbits And other interesting things…

Republicans are going negatively ape over Jasmine Crockett, a Democratic senator. She has become very famous very quickly, and some are putting her side-by-side with AOC, as the two queens of the new left. Both women are physically attractive — call me a chauvinist, but I am sure this has contributed to their popularity and quick ascendance. I’ve only seen Crockett in action once in a 30 second clip run on Fox or somewhere else. I was fascinated. This young woman has everything it takes. She is lively and tenacious, She has a real command in her voice and she is a powerful actor. She responds immediately and dramatically to the audience, with a face that is as elastic as comedian Jim Carrey’s.
She knows how to dress like Oprah. That’s a big plus, it confers on her a dignity, style and presence, at least as an outer garment, but the fire in her says that there is much going on under the garment, too. The only thing I could not judge was her intelligence. I must admit I hardly understood a word of that entire lengthy clip, but I attributed that to her being an American black, and I a white Canadian with differing accents, speech patterns and experiential or cultural references. She certainly has an intelligent face, and humour shines in her eyes.
Easy to see why she got elected. “Got” seems colloquial and crude here, but this is why I use it: I could use such terms as she was elected, or she became elected, etc., but these terms are always only half the truth — because being elected is not a passive act. I don’t know why it became that way in our language. It is not a passive act because in any organized party structure, many people labour many years to climb the ladder toward possible nomination. Those who are charismatic, energetic and clever rise more quickly in the party hierarchy, and sometimes can be almost a stranger to the hierarchy, but a charismatic, youthful and exciting “stranger.”
Thus you get a Pierre Trudeau, or, in his first term, Donald Trump.
Obviously, in our day and age no politician is simply elected. – well Biden was – so there is a certain self investment into what leads to an election victory or loss. in other words, being elected is the possession, the prize, that the winner takes. But I don’t want to go so far as to say self-elected, as, with team politics, that is seldom true.
Saying “got” elected implies that someone, probably the elected one, did something to be elected, but it doesn’t come right out and say so. It’s ambiguous. Some will say “got” is bad grammar, while others will hopefully absorb/understand or pick up on the veiled reference to the election being a possession (got is common slang for having) as a result of certain assertive actions.

Some say Japan bombed Pearl Harbour because the US was cutting off it’s oil supplies, choking supply lines.
Today the US is singling out China for a trade war. If China is pushed too far or suffers too greatly in a trade war, it might also turn to a military solution. No one wants that. I hope Trump is keeping that in mind.
