WEEKLY FORECAST:

aries icon  ARIES:  March 21-April 19

You are still on top, Aries, physically, emotionally and mentally. By Monday, a period of indecision, delay and mistakes will end, freeing you to charge ahead in many areas. (Relationships, relocation and public appearances need a few more days — until the 12th — to stew in circles.) You have one or more chores to finish relating to the government (taxes?) or an institution or management. Get these done and move on. Your home remains a little friction prone, but that will end soon, so start preparing your “peace talks.” Sunday to dawn Tuesday (PDT) brings a strong streak of romance, beauty and pleasure. That’s great, but don’t the yourself to someone who, tho’ enchanting, could restrict or “weaken” you in future. (If you feel a “duty,” it’s a warning.) Tackle chores Tuesday dawn to suppertime Thursday — watch legal boundaries and possible gov’t or management opposition. Relationships and opportunities fill Thursday eve through Saturday. You might start with uncertainty Thursday but will likely work up to fullness of feeling, even “true love.”

taurus icon  TAURUS:  April 20-May 20

Your best approach this week, Taurus? Be restful, contemplative, sympathetic and helpful. This week and next are good times to plan, but next week will be better than now. A “formerly desired” future situation can return now, and might really kick into gear the last 10 days off April. Friends and acquaintances remain very active, so you might be doing a little more running around and phoning than you did before this year. Your money situation still looks good. Focus on your home and family, on security and possibly gardening Sunday to dawn Tuesday (PDT) — a great interval overall. (Tho’ it breaks a little Mon. night.)  Romance, beauty, pleasure, sports/games, charming kids — these tickle your fancy Tuesday dawn to Thursday eve. Not a huge, thrilling phase, but Thursday morning could bring sweet satisfaction. Tackle chores Thurs. night through Sat. — success is easy.

gemini icon  GEMINI:  May 21-June 20

Keep wishing, Gemini, keep following those little moments of inspiration or wanderlust or love. This is your month of happiness — you’re optimistic, popular, flirty, and dreams can come true. A former prestige or career position might return. It has some hint of “net worth” or “equity” about it. If this “appears” Friday or Sat, take it. Otherwise, be a bit skeptical. Monday ends (technically) three weeks of delay, indecision and mistakes. Paperwork, communications, errands and meetings fill Sunday to Tuesday dawn (PDT) — mostly successfully. (Watch disruption late Monday night.) Head for home, hug the family, end some stale situations and start others, Tuesday morning to Thursday suppertime. Your luck is mixed but overall favourable. Romance, true love, charming kids, beauty and pleasure, and a creative streak, meet you Thursday eve through Sat. Best Friday night, early Sat.

Cancer icon  CANCER:  June 21-July 22

The emphasis lies on ambition, career, prestige relations and worldly status, Cancer. Three weeks of delays and mistakes end now, so you can charge ahead, riding ambition’s horse. A former lover or teacher might return, with a sweet “message.” You remain assertive, courageous and sexually magnetic — this long trend (since early January) will end soon (April 18). Over the years ahead, your ambition, career, will lean toward intellectual or travel-prone activities. Sunday to Tuesday dawn (PDT) brings money, urges you to buy, sell, collect $ and pay bills. A dicey patch late Monday; otherwise, success. Paperwork, travel, communications and casual friends fill Tuesday morning to suppertime Thursday — a pretty good interval, with some difficulty Thursday (morning rejection, evening doubts). Thursday night through Saturday, be home, hug the kids, garden, prune, rearrange your social plans. All’s well!

Leo icon  LEO:  July 23-Aug. 22

Indecision and delays end Monday, technically. You remain in “intellectual mode,” Leo — far travel, international affairs, law, higher learning, social structures, love, philosophy and media fill this week and next. DON’T enter a lawsuit, as your legal planet is in a sign that has an advantage over you. (Soon, after April 17, you will be able to win in this area.) Also, two more weeks, continue to avoid dark places and belligerent individuals. Sexually and financially, a former situation or opportunity returns this week (or has earlier). Until June, a special wish can come true, especially about romance or children or creativity. Your energy and charisma are “in full force” Sunday to Tuesday dawn (PDT). Start things, get things done – and gather allies (except Monday night, when no one agrees with you). Chase $, buy/sell, pay bills, read to learn or hug a “friend with benefits” midweek — Tuesday morning to suppertime Thursday. A fairly smooth interval, but watch refusals and, late night, deception (or harmless allure!). Thursday eve through Saturday brings errands, casual friends, paperwork, reports, anecdotes, trips and messaging — all good!

virgo icon  VIRGO:  Aug. 23-Sept. 22

You are still wishing and hoping for a sexual or financial (or research) triumph, Virgo. It might come, but only until April 18. So if you want it, dangle your proposition, approach, act. A former mate or love or opportunity or relocation option might re-appear this week (if he/she/it didn’t earlier). Remember, your major good luck remains in career and status zones to June. Great fortune here might entail the end of one career, the start of another. (If you’re footloose, under-employed or a “gig” worker, try real estate sales — BEFORE mid-June.) Rest, lie low, contemplate and plan, seek advice and liaise w/gov’t or head office Sunday to Tuesday dawn (PDT) — all’s well, with a possible wee disruption Monday night. Your energy, pizzazz and confidence rise nicely Tuesday morning to suppertime Thursday. Get out, get things done, see and be seen — you’ll impress someone — think “ambition” for good luck (esp. Wed.). Collect $ and pay bills, buy/sell, chase casual sex, or sit with a book to learn, Thursday night through Sat. All’s well!

libra icon  LIBRA:  Sept. 23-Oct. 22

The accent lies relationships, opportunities, public appearances and relocation themes, Libra, for 2 more weeks. Relationships can mean agreement or opposition, tho’ they will bend toward agreement this time around. Remember, you could develop a lifetime love, mate, June 24 to June 2025. Don’t take someone for granted. A former job, duty (or health concern) might return this week. Reduce your sugar intake. Relations remain a bit dicey, as friction still hovers — it’s a sub-surface battle between your ambition and your affection. (E.g., your boss or parent disapproves of someone sweet?) By April 18 onward, this will turn to pure enjoyment, social and flirty happiness. Meanwhile, be diplomatic. Sunday to Tuesday dawn (PDT) brings a strong hint of the “love action” (or social joys) that will come after mid-month — a happy, optimistic, social few days. Retreat from the fray Tuesday morning to suppertime Thursday — rest, seek advice, liaise with gov’t or head office, contemplate and plan. Stay inactive, as there are potholes/obstacles for the impatient. Thursday night through Saturday, your energy and charisma soar — love might climax.

scorpio icon  SCORPIO:  Oct. 23-Nov. 21

Two more weeks of work (and minor health concerns) Scorpio. Take care of your kids’ needs. If you’re a boss, support your employees now. A former lover could appear this week. If so, you could face a couple of months of bliss. Continue to avoid lawsuits and courts — and international travel. Recent delays, mistakes and indecision end now. Remember, your source of great good luck until June lies in investments, debt rescheduling, sex, pregnancy, lifestyle changes, medical procedures. Be ambitious Sunday to Tuesday dawn — you’ll succeed, but don’t seek agreement or partnership Monday night. Wishes could come true (minor ones) Tuesday morning to suppertime Thursday — you’ll be optimistic, flirty, social and popular. But retreat from the bustle Thursday night through Sat. — rest, contemplate, plan. Seek advice. All’s well!

sagittarius icon  SAGITTARIUS:  Nov. 22-Dec. 21

Two more weeks of creative energy, romance, charming kids, speculation, risk-reward, beauty and pleasure, Sage. Dive in, enjoy! The recent delays, indecision and advice not to start anything end Monday. Your romance planet is in your sex zone, so romance now could swiftly lead you know where. Your source of great good luck to June? Marriage, partnering, opportunities, public appearances, relocation, contracts/agreements — chase at least one of these! You might reminisce or actually visit a former home. Lots of “family talk.” Sunday to Tuesday dawn (PDT) brings love, understanding, profound ideas, far travel, law, higher learning — all to your benefit. Be ambitious Tuesday morning to Thursday suppertime — bosses are watching. Show your skills, work hard, dress “up,” especially Wed. Collect $ and pay bills Thursday night through Saturday — you’ll spend too much Sat., but you won’t mind. Intimacy with a casual friend could lead to more of a climax than you expect.

capricorn icon  CAPRICORN:  Dec. 22-Jan. 20

The accent lies on home, family, security, gardening, and ending stale situations to let new ones grow — applies to plants and people, Cap. Your source of good luck and expansion (to June) lies in employment, machinery, health, and care of dependents. Since January, and lasting to April 18, you have and will encounter passionate people — could be an inflamed suitor, or a road rage idiot. So remain diplomatic for 2 more weeks. Recent delays and mistakes have mostly ended, so you are free to charge ahead. (I’d get that work and that family stuff done first.) Sunday to Tuesday dawn brings mysteries, major finances, sexual desire, lifestyle changes and medical concerns — mostly quite fortunate, but watch nerves or spending Monday night, early Tuesday. Awareness, profound thoughts, far travel, international influences, higher learning, law, publishing — these flow in Tuesday morning to suppertime Thursday. Your luck here is mixed (numbers small obstacles) but ultimately good. Be ambitious Thursday night through Sat. — good fortune rides with you!

Aquarius icon  AQUARIUS:  Jan. 21-Feb. 18

The general accent lies on errands, communications and paperwork, Aquarius. Recent delays and mistakes in this zone end Monday, freeing you for forward  action. Work remains hard and your health “delicate” until June 18. Your biggest luck sources through June, are romance, creativity, sports/games, and children. A former money source might return. Sunday to dawn Tuesday (PDT) brings relationships, opportunities, public appearances and potential relocation. If single, you could meet someone with “nice potential” — but not so much late Monday. Life’s mysteries, lust for sex, money or power, medical concerns and lifestyle choices — these fill mid-week, Tuesday morning to suppertime Thursday. Proceed slowly, as obstacles mingle with smooth patches. Your intellect, profound ideas, far travel, law, higher learning, publishing and gentle love arrive Thursday night through Sat. — you’ll be satisfied, content.

Pisces icon  PISCES:  Feb. 19-March 20

The main accent lies on money and possessions for two more weeks, Pisces. “Romance” is one of those possessions. Though recent delays and mistakes in relationships ends Monday, your own indecision (esp. about sex, finances and communications) lasts until at least Saturday. So go forward now, new projects and relationships are okay, but let this week be a gradual ramp rather than a launching pad. Romantic and creative areas are impulsive, passionate, but maybe not swiftly successful. Remember, your great source of fortune to June is real estate, security, children, home. Tackle chores and keep healthy Sunday to Tuesday dawn — all’s well. (Maybe a stomach ache Mon. night.) Tuesday morning to suppertime Thursday brings relationships, co-operation and opposition, public appearances, opportunities, and relocation themes. Go slow — good and bad stuff mingles. Lust — for power, intimacy or money — drives you Thursday night through Sat. It looks very likely that you’ll get at least part of what you want!

THE END.

AFTERAMBLE:

An astute reader pointed out that Canadian troops were not “first in” in Iraq, as I had stated last column — it was Afghanistan.

***

Several months ago, I wrote here that Trump was not the kind to seek retribution for all the law fare, etc.… well, it looks like I was wrong. I guess after all these years of being pilloried, getting a bit back must taste sweet.

***

BTW, to assuage my girlfriend’s worries: the possible U.S. war in the next 7 years might be an economic one. That’s essentially how America became a dominant nation. China is doing the same a century later, with the Silk Road initiative, etc. Now Trump’s tariffs are drawing lines of loyalty and dissent around the world. Should be interesting!

***

What about the technical guys who set up the signal chat about bombing The Houthis? Who actually connected people, who dialled that number that led to the Atlantic editor’s desk? And whoever dialled it where did they get that number from? And what does their bank account look like?

There are too many unanswered questions: I hope Kash Patel’s new FBI investigates.

***

Also, WHERE ARE THE EPSTEIN FILES??? WHY, AFTER ALL THAT FANFARE, ARE THEY STILL NOT RELEASED? And why last week was the main female witness against Epstein mowed down by a bus? (She is not expected to live.)

***

Remember, the main benefactors of tariffs are the governments, not the citizens.

I often say that Aries has a good sense of humour. The longest comic novel in history (Don Quixote) was written by Cervantes, an Aries.

Aries is full of life, and sometimes bigger than life. Aries women are never prudish, and sometimes dispense with  foreplay.

Some Aries love to be flamboyant – Elton John and Lady Gaga, for instance. In present European and American astrology Mars and Aries are considered assertive, aggressive, violent, physical, good starters but poor finishers.

But to the Romans Mars represented the beginning of life, the blade of grass breaking the soil. The two meanings are actually compatible in a way: Aries doing the disrupting is like a plough  (blades are ruled by Aries) disturbing the soil so  that it gets fresh air and water and nutrients, and creates lips and crannies where seeds can hide to germinate out of the sight of birds. If a farmer just scattered his corn kernels over flat unplowed fields, little would grow. After a few seasons, either the flat fields would start reverting to trees, or they would turn into hard ground in which little would grow. Growth needs Aries.

****

Something doesn’t make sense in this Signal communication scandal, in which the editor in chief at the Atlantic magazine was inadvertently included in a high level meeting of cabinet ministers to discuss strikes on Yemen and The Houthis. Evidently the signal location device is encrypted at both ends, sender’s and receiver’s. To join a Signal discussion, you have to be invited. So who invited the editor of the Trump-hating Atlantic magazine?.

This was a top secret top level discussion on what was supposed to be a secure network connection run by the signal app. Supposedly the Atlantic editor was included because his initials, J. G., were on the list of people to be included. OK, but that still doesn’t make sense. This call was not limited, geographically, in fact, one participant was in Moscow. But even if we just limited it to the surrounding area of the White House, say 20 miles, there must be 10 to 100 people with the initials J. G! How in the first place did those initials get put on the list? And once on the list, why did the connection go directly to the editor in chief of one of the most rabid anti-Trump magazines in America? (Rather than to, say, John Good, or Joseph Gersich or Jessica Gooby, or 100 other JG names?)  How did this JG ever get included? There’s something going on that neither the right nor left media are talking about. And while we’re mentioning secrecy, where are those Epstein pedophile lists Pam Bondi promised us weeks ago?

The trouble with Canada‘s NDP is that their philosophy is so strong, rooted so deeply, that it is hard for them to be flexible in trying to capture the public attention. The liberals, for instance, need to swing from progressivism, which is like a sore on their body right now, to centre left, even towards the pure centre, to  try to capture it from the conservatives. That’s how you stay in power.

Hey, I told you a few columns ago to harvest your (stock market) winnings before they collapsed. Well, they collapsed today, April 3.

I have been 50 % in cash, waiting for a big downturn to invest. Well, today, when everything fell between 4 % and 15 %, the stocks I’ve waited to, wanted to buy, hardly fell. My favourite, Bank of Nova Scotia, fell 30 cents. Big deal. It fluctuates that much every day. But Bank of Montreal (which I don’t want) fell over $ 3. I’m still not buying much. Here’s why: until late May, stingy Saturn in Pisces “suffocates” Jupiter-in-Gemini’s good luck. (These are the two major business planets.) Then, for two weeks, it will not square Saturn, so lucky  Jupiter can dance. But by June 9, Jupiter enters Cancer — usually a very good money and economic sign, esp. for Canada and the U.S.A. — BUT Saturn will now square or dominate or suffocate Jupiter’s financial luck for one more full year, technically from June 9 2025 to June 30, 2026.  In the summer of 2026 we will begin a bull — or at least an optimistically gambling — market.

***

I wrote here two or three columns ago that Canada’s reaction to the Trump tariffs should be to either get rid of all tariffs, or, a later suggestion, put a 2000% tariff on everything from the states. The latter would be a painful one at first, and require a lot of self development, for instance, in the auto sector.

I was surprised to see Senator Kennedy in the US put forth this very idea last week: to have no tariffs whatsoever between the two countries. That would demand the end of dairy subsidies and their cousins. A few columns ago I said that Canada’s dairy tariffs are as high as 500%. That was the first part I read. After that, tho’,  I heard 400% down to 250%. Canadian farmers definitely would have to adapt, perhaps to find new crops, or to grow specialty beef, or produce specialty cheeses, etc.

An argument against all tariffs, is that they drain money out of the business cycle and into the dark coffers of government. No dollar ever goes into a government agency and comes out worth more. Tariffs might be effective and harmless to the population if one simple, but perhaps extremely difficult to administer rule is followed: every dollar collected in tariffs should be returned to the consumer.  This can be done by an instant rebate to the customer right at the till or “point of sale”: a 25% tariff, followed by a 25% refund. But you can see the ridiculousness of this solution … You have effectively removed the tariffs!
